www.detik.com

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

All Indonesian should be familiar with detik.com. Almost every single moment when we browse the internet we never be able to stop not to open this site. What is actually the secret of this new Indonesian site icon. If you ask Indonesian who live in overseas they state that detikcom is the one that provide the latest news faster than the other.

Howeever, since the sentences that detikcom journalist used tend to be egalitarian, many people agree that they should work on it to be better and more formal but still relaxing. In general, detikcom is the leader in news related to current affair in Indonesia or in the world, sports, gossips, tips,  short story, technology, crimes, and now this site just create a new site for local news especially for East Java and Surabaya.

Of course someday, we hope that detikcom also covers all Indonesia since we are rich in term of areas. It has been 4 months for me to be a customer of freemagazine provided by detikcom. even i stay here in Melbourne they really keen to keep good relationship with it reader like me.

Good luck for detikcom, you are the icon, but please never be arogan later when you become more and more famous. In my point of view, all of kind of media whatever it is, newspaper, TV, internet, blog or bulletin will be useless without the cooperation of their loyal readers.

Are You Dare to Fish?

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

Fishing is something missing from my life for about one and half year already now. Well, when many people claim that fishing is boring and just suitable for jobless person. I might be able to prove that fishing is an expensive hobby that so rarely people can afford to. Apart from buying some requirement tools that something also expensive, fishing require you a plenty of time, which is might be a bit impossible for busy people like full time student, full time workers or full time lover.

What do you need from fishing is patient,,,since you might be trapped into a situation like you really want to cacth at least one fish but up to three or 4 hours you get nothing except boredom.

What you can do is set your target before fishing don’t go without any vision, bring your favourite books, some chips no need fish since you could or you should get one he he. and bring a hat, an umbrella and other picnic stuffs, so then enjoy fishing.

If i have a chance i would prefer do fishing than chatting through yames or msn, sorry about that. So are your dare to fish, invite me then, coz i am the expert?? am i.

I Miss Jamu Gendong

Monday, July 30th, 2007

I read Jawa Pos today this morning. I found one touching story about Jamu Gendong in Jember. If you remember, in Java mostly there are many Jamu Gendong seller, or we used to them Mbok Jamu.

Me and my families are Mbok Jamu customer, the price is less expensive than conventional medecine so i do like to buy, apart from a pity feeling of the jamu sellers.

What happen when you drink the Jamu then you get dizzy or stomache? hmm that’s what happen yesterday in one of surburban area in Jember. 12 people must go to the hospital and receive doctor treatmen since they get poisoned after drinking the Jamu.

Well, if you know something about Jamu or whatever related to traditional madecine, just make sure that the material and production process is steril from any bacteria, so that you can benefited after drinking jamu not the opposite.

I hope this coming Food Festifal in Clayton will provide Jamu Gendong as well, Jamu….Jamu…..

Iraq 1 : Saudi Arabia 0

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Iraq national soccer team win over Saudi Arabian side in the Asian Cup final in Jakarta today tonight. Iraq starts the game very carefully, there more Saudis supporter than Iraqis in the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium. But Iraqis boys can do better than their counterpart. After playaing 0:0 in the first half. Iraq finally scored a winning goal after 72 minutes playing time. The scorer is Younis the Iraqis striker. The question now, who will get the gold shoes, since both Younis and Yasser from Saudi also has been collecting four goals so far.

Congratulation Iraq, the world will notice you, your people must be proud of you.

Just to let you know, no one predicted Iraq will win Asian Cup 2007. and please also remember that Iraq also defeat Australian team 3:1 before quarter final. What a great Iraq….see you in World Cup

New House

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Thursday 28 July 2007 is my day off; I use this day to complete my household work. I have unfinished work which is moving my sofa chair from the old to the new house. Since I move out from my previous apartment in

Tooronga Rd

, I decide to stay in a share house which is very close to

Monash

Caulfield

University

. My objectives to move to this place is to have better access to Monash University, I can do my assignment in the post graduate study space until late of night, then I can have regular access to the library as well. Those things were very unlikely to be done when I was in

Tooronga Rd.

An interesting thing about this place is, I have to share the house facilities with other 10 people who also stay there. The house has three bathrooms; therefore I do not have any difficulties to get access to it. It has one washing machine and one dryer; this tool very valuable for, I remember that in my previous house did not have washing machine and dryer.

My housemates are nice friends; they are friendly and helpful. One of them is Genta my classmate, who also doing Master of International Business as well here in

Monash

University

. There rest are a student from Philippine,

Indonesia

,

Sri-Lanka

,

Malaysia

and also one local student. I learn a lot from them, how the way to manage time and to be happy is the thing that one of my housemate namely Deny always told me. In his point of view, life can only be lived; his motto to be happy in every situation is something interesting for me.

Phillip is another housemate who is very helpful; he becomes the principle tenant in that house. He has good English, according to him, he can speak very well because Phillip always tries to use English in every occasions. No wonder why he is a very talk active person. Next is Mellisa an Australian, a talk active girl, smart and active, she often back home very late in the night because of her work. I have not known all of my housemates closely but I notice that there is very introvert person in the house, with whom I have never been speaking to although a single word. I hope I could start a conversation.

Study, Work, Play and Rest

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

Welcome to the new semester, actually I would rather spend more time on a holiday.  However this week the

Monash

University

teaching period has come. Some of my colleague told me about some units that they did previously, then not few of them give me suggestion to choose some interesting units such as Leadership, Human Resource Management, Re-engineering Organization, Contemporary Issue in Globalisation and many more.

After searching for adequate information about useful and interesting units for this semester, finally I decided to do four elective units, which are MGX 5470 International Manufacturing, MGX 5640 Cross-Culture Communication and Negotiation, MGX 9150 Contemporary Asia and of course MGX 9940 Managerial Effectiveness.

As usual, when the class starts new lecturer looks very enthusiastic in explaining the unit content materials. Some students look very keen on that but not few of them who seem to me like lazy and have no inner spirits in doing so. Since this is hopefully will be my last semester at Master of International Business course, I have known some classmate who already with for about one year. I always remember that it very hard to learn something in our second language so that I start earlier than perhaps others in searching for recommended books in the library. Unfortunately, this semester all colleagues have been aware about library books, therefore when I went to get the books, most of them has gone to someone else.

The first week of this semester also becomes the first week for me to start a new part time work. My friend offered me a position in one of

Indonesia

restaurant in Clayton. I think for several times about that offer. In one hand I want to experience to work part time while study full time; on the other I also worry that this might annoy my study time. Finally I decided to accept the offer. I was lucky and fortunate enough to attend an MPA Seminar presented by Micahael Di Mattia from the University Community Services last year.

From that seminar I got an idea about how to balance our study, work, play and rest. There are several ways in doing so. First I make Major assignments and class tests, Study Schedule, Goal Setting up and Time Management Matrix. Furthermore, I have a quite tight schedule but I believe I can manage it well, because I really want to balance my daily routine with study harder and smarter, working part time, do my favourite hobby which is playing Badminton, and rest in my new rent house.

Opera Jawa

Sunday, July 29th, 2007

This movie is directed by Garin Nugroho, and played very well by Arthika Sari Devi (former Miss Indonesia). The story inspired by Rama and Sinta epic story, with of course radical changes within.

Start with the happy couple Siti and her husband. Siti is a dancer in her village, they are a happy parther until the presence Eko (the real name, former Maddona’s dancer). Her husband is jealous and feel that her wife will be taken away.

Not that simple, the movie is more likely to be a musical movie with Javaness dialog (that’s why the title was Opera Jawa). It depict a suburban village view near Jogjakarta perhaps.

If you like to watch a qualified movie with full of arts and philosophy, just don’t forget to see this one. I give this movie four and half stars
